Five years ago Casee Guasconi started teaching at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School.

Prior to her arrival, her mother, Marlee, had been teaching in the same school.

"I did teach for 40 years and I did retire from this building. And I had to leave for medical reasons; I've had a lot of surgeries since then. So I really wasn't ready to leave my profession," says Marlee Bryant, Casee's mother.

Little did she know, Marlee wasn't going to leave her profession completely.

"She's been co-teaching with me since I started at Roosevelt," says Casee, a fifth grade teacher.

Completely as a volunteer, Marlee helps Casee fulfill a life-long dream.

"Those memories of sitting down and snuggling with her, reading books, being a little girl, those are gifts that I carry on with me and into the classroom as well," Casee says.

The two teachers are known for their kindness and passion.

"In 40 years of teaching, I never had to really discipline anyone because I never put them in a corner. I always valued them; I always found something to value," Marlee says.

That value brought from one family is impacting the lives of many.
