CORNING, N.Y. -- Police in Corning allege that a woman was killed by her own daughter and ex-husband, who then covered up the killing by making it look like she committed suicide.

Kerrie Neurauter, 20, and Lloyd Neurauter, 45, are accused of killing 46-year-old Michele Neurauter, who was found dead on Dwight Avenue in August of last year.

Investigators now say an autopsy showed that the victim died from possible strangulation.

Both Kerrie and Lloyd are charged with second-degree murder. Lloyd was taken to a jail in New Jersey, where police say he threatened suicide after his arrest, and is trying to fight extradition.

Kerrie was arrested at her home in Syracuse. Rochester Institute of Technology officials stated she is a fourth-year student.

Police say Michele's 14-year-old daughter was also living at the house at the time of her mother's death.

Officials say there were previous calls to the home for domestic violence, but are still looking into what led up to Michele's death, and in the meantime, did not offer any insight as to a possible motive.
