Cinco de Mayo Festival

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with traditional Mexican food, music and dancing. Try out some of the best taco trucks from around Milwaukee, check out a tamale eating contest, watch a singing contest, attend a carnival, head to a car show, see a chihuahua beauty contest and more. 

Madison

2025 Madison Derby Party
Saturday, May 3 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Edgewater, 1001 Wisconsin Pl., Madison

Join in on the Derby fun on the Grand Plaza at The Edgewater for Madison’s 8th Annual Kentucky Derby Party. Enjoy New Orleans-style jazz while playing race-day games like horseshoes, ring toss and more. Derby attire is not required, but is encouraged. The party is free to attend.

Walk MS: Madison 2025
Saturday, May 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Warner Park, 2930 N. Sherman Ave., Madison

With both a one-mile and three-mile route, walk to support multiple sclerosis (MS), which is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system. The event helps raise funds for MS of which over $77,000 has been raised so far.

A Beautiful Noise

This jukebox musical follows the life of Neil Diamond while bringing his musical hits, such as “Sweet Caroline” to Broadway audiences around the country. The artist himself, who has released hit after hit for decades, worked on the development of the show.

Enjoy over 35,000 square feet of trains, including vendors selling trains, demonstrations, hourly door prizes, children’s activities and more. For kids age 5 and under, the event is free; for kids ages 6 to 12, it’s $2; for seniors 65 and older it’s $6; and for all other adults, it’s $8.

100-Mile Garage Sale
Thursday, May 1 through Sunday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Great River Road, various locatins

Start anywhere along the Great River Road, where the historic towns in two states clean out attics, garages and basements, happening rain or shine. While there's a map on the Facebook page, you can find sales in Hastings, Minnesota south on Hwy 61 to Winona, Minnesota, across the river to Fountain City, Wisconsin and North on Hwy 35 to Prescott, Wisconsin.

50th Annual AIRO Powwow
Saturday, May 3 starting at 11 a.m.
UW-Stevens Point Skyward Fieldhouse, 2050 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point

The American Indians Reaching for Opportunities (AIRO) Powwow will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and general admission is $7. The event his year will feature alumni from the AIRO student organization from the past 50 years, a wide variety of dance styles throughout the day and more.
