TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ā The iconic Unconquered Statue of Chief Osceola that sits outside Doak Campbell Stadium is usually a place where folks gather before and after football games.
On Friday night, it will be the location of a vigil to remember the victims of Thursdayās on-campus shooting that left two people dead, and another six injured.

One of the deceased was identified Friday as Tiru Chabba, a regional VP for Aramark. He worked there for over 25 years and leaves behind a wife and family. The other was identified as Robert Morales. who was dining coordinator for FSU Dining Services and a former assistant football coach at Leon High School in Tallahassee. The school released a statetment Friday about Morales.
Authorities identified the shooter as 20-year-old Phoenix Ikner, a student at FSU and the son of a Leon County Sheriffās Office deputy.
A memorial has been started on the Florida State University campus for all of those involved.
The university is hosting support hours for students and faculty, as well as counseling in addition to Fridayās vigil.
The university will open a support center at the Askew Student Life Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Counseling and victimās advocate services will be available, and staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance.
Fridayās vigil is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Langford Green in front of the Unconquered Statue.
The school also canceled classes on Friday, as well as athletic events through the weekend.
āThis is a deeply emotional time, but we are all here to support each other,ā said FSU President Ryan McCoullough. āWeāre going to do everything we can to support our community. We are a strong and united community and weāre family.ā
āAnd so weāre going to take care of all of youā¦and we will get through this together,ā he said.
