Flights in and out of Newark Airport are continuing to see major delays as the air traffic control facility that guides planes at the airport has had brief radar outages over the past two weeks.
There have been 80 delays and over 70 cancellations as of Tuesday afternoon. A staffing shortage of air traffic controllers is adding strain to an already troubled aviation system.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said he plans to reduce the number of flights to help ease delays, but officials say more needs to be done to fix the problems.
Todd Yeary, former air traffic controller, joined “The Rush Hour” on Tuesday to give insight into the issues happening at Newark Airport.
