Gov. Mike DeWine, state Senators Terry Johnson and Steve Huffman and the staff at Carillon Historical park came together for a ceremonial bill signing of Senate Bill 24.

The bill was signed into law on April 2 of this year and adopts the 1905 Wright Flyer III as the official state airplane of Ohio.

Guests can check it out anytime at the park.

ā€œWe really continue to emphasize that this is a state of innovation and certainly the people that we look to as the most visible example of that are these two brothers who just kept at it,ā€ DeWine said.

The Wright Flyer III was the Wright Brothers' third powered aircraft.

Wright Hall, the building that houses the plane, was one of the original eight buildings built at Carillon Park under the direction of Orville Wright.
