CINCINNATI — Rodney Hinton Jr.'s attorney filed several motions that could affect Hinton Jr.'s trial where he is accused of running his car into and killing Deputy Larry Henderson last month.

What You Need To Know

  • Hinton Jr.'s attorney filed for a motion to exclude photos of the deceased and a motion to compel disclosure of exculpatory evidence

  • The motion says if photos of the deceased, in this case Deputy Larry Henderson, were used in trial, then that would deny Hinton Jr. a fair trial

  • That's because the defense believes the photos would "inflame the jurors' passion" which would result in a decision reached on an improper basis

Clyde Bennett, Hinton Jr.’s attorney, has officially filed a motion to exclude photos of the deceased, that would be of Deputy Larry Henderson. The motion says that would effectively deny Hinton Jr. of a fair trial and would "inflame the jurors’ passion."

That motion was filed on May 27. The motion asks that no photos from both the crime scene and the autopsy be used in the trial. It later asks for a pretrial hearing to review any photos that will be introduced during the trial so that the defense can make objections.

Another motion was also filed that same day to disclose exculpatory evidence, which means any information that would justify Hinton Jr.’s guilt.

Hinton Jr. remains at the Clermont County Jail after pleading not guilty on two counts of aggravated murder, one count of murder and two counts of felonious assault.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said they do not have a statement on the motions that were filed.

The trial is set to begin Jan. 12, 2026.
