DAYTON, Ohio — Kettering Health announced five of its medical centers received top grades from a national watchdog group.
The health system was evaluated by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit, that focuses on patient safety. The group assigns A-F grades for general hospitals based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections and the systems hospitals use to prevent them. Grades are updated twice each year, once in the spring and again in the fall.
“Kettering Health’s highest priority is patient safety. Our ‘A’ grades are a collective effort, and I am thankful to serve beside a dedicated team of caregivers and support staff who are devoted to providing the best care with a focus on continuously improving safety across our health system,” said Daniel Wolcott, acute care president at Kettering Health, in a news release.
The five centers with "A" grades this spring include:
- Kettering Health Hamilton
- Kettering Health Main Campus
- Kettering Health Miamisburg
- Soin Medical Center
- Kettering Health Troy
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ranking program that focuses on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries in the country. The program is peer-reviewed and free to the public.
