First off, Mike Derrick got a pretty big endorsement over the weekend.
Here's that Info:
Today the Adirondack Daily Enterprise announced that they are endorsing Mike Derrick, retired U.S. Army Colonel and Democratic candidate, in the election for New York’s 21st congressional district. Highlights below:
ON MIKE DERRICK
"We have met with Mike Derrick more than once and found him willing to answer any question we threw at him. He seems like a good listener and it seems his stated goal to continue a life of public service is genuine.
"He also pledges to stand up against those who pollute the Adirondacks. In the moderate spirit of Mr. Owens and Mr. McHugh, we think he would represent our area pretty well in the House."
ON ELISE STEFANIK
Elise Stefanik "still makes a habit of dodging questions she doesn't want to answer. She has mastered the politician's art of being available when it makes her look good and yet unavailable when it might not."

"While she claims to be bipartisan, she is not so when it matters most to the Adirondacks. Her predecessor John McHugh consistently broke his Republican Party ranks to fight against air pollution.
"If there is one thing our congressional representatives must do for the Adirondacks, it is work to stop companies from dumping poisonous garbage on the Park. Rep. Stefanik, however, has repeatedly sided with her party's anti-environmental base, siding with coal interests and climate change deniers over the most elementary Adirondack conservation. This is a critical issue for us...the Adirondacks need a defender in the House.
Stefanik is "not the [best choice] for the Adirondacks."
ON MATT FUNICIELLO
Matt Funiciello "has become much more combative in style and radical in policies than he was two years ago. We can't go there with him."
"He's pushing to eliminate all meat and dairy farms" and "says he won't help get federal funding to expand broadband internet."
Matt Funiciello's approach is "unsuited for Congress...We doubt more than a few dozen district residents think getting rid of dairy farms and internet access are good ideas."

The Derrick Camp is also critizing what it calls 'Poor Environmental Record'.
Info Below:
Today, Mike Derrick, retired U.S. Army Colonel and Democratic congressional candidate in New York’s 21st district, called on Elise Stefanik to come clean on her anti-environment record as multiple big money groups funnel campaign dollars into this campaign to cover up her 9% rating from the League of Conservation Voters.
Derrick urged Stefanik to tell outside lobbying groups to stop dumping money into the district with misleading advertisements about her checkered record on environmental protections for the North Country.
Derrick is supported by the Sierra Club because he is focused on continuing the strong steps the North Country has already taken on clean and renewable energy infrastructure in place, including the power being generated from the St. Lawrence River hydro plant and our district's many wind farms.
A spokesman for the Mike Derrick campaign released the following statement:
"North Country families need a strong leader who will protect our environment and put our communities first, not someone who is propped up by corporate donors and anti-environment lobbyists.
"Elise Stefanik has one of the worst environmental records of all our New York representatives in Congress. So she is calling in favors with her Washington friends and lobbyists to flood our district with huge sums of money to muddy the waters and mislead voters.
"Elise Stefanik talks about protecting the environment, but her votes tell a very different story. When it comes to protecting the environment, we shouldn't be grading on a curve. She voted against the Clean Power Plan and against clean water safeguards which are essential to preserving the natural beauty at the heart of the North Country and our economy.
"We need a strong national energy policy that moves us away from dirty fossil fuels and embraces a 21st century green energy agenda that makes clean and renewable fuels the top priority. Climate change is real and we need a strong voice for the North Country who will stand up for our region and protect our environment for families today and generations to come."
