JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Castorland man was sent for a mental health check and then arrested after threating to kill someone in a home he was court ordered to not be at.
52 year old Charles Monaghan had his bail set at $10,000 and is due back in court Thursday. He's scheduled to appear in the Town of Wilna court.
Monaghan was charged with six crimes including Criminal Contempt, AGG Contempt, Menacing, Criminal Possession of Weapon, Assault with Intent to Cause Injury and Acting in a Manner to Injure a Child.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department alleges Monaghan violated a court order of protection on July 28th when he went to a home on State Route 126 in Wilna. At the home he displayed a knife and threatened to stab someone if they called 9-1-1. During the dispute, the department alleges Monaghan bit the forearm of a Rhonda Monaghan with 'enough force to bruise and break the skin'.
It's also alleged Monaghan threatened to kill Rhonda.
Monaghan was sent to Samaritan Medical Center for a mental health evaluation and was arrested upon his release.
