WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The NYS DEC is going to create a plan to manage the state Lands known as the Adirondack Foothills. It's looking for your input.
Details from the DEC:
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is requesting members of the public give their input on a draft Unit Management Plan (UMP) for the Adirondack Foothills. The area is made up of six state forests; twenty-one detached parcels of forest preserve; and one Office of General Services (OGS) parcel in northern Oneida County and central Herkimer County. The UMP will guide future management of these State Lands over the next ten years. “The goal is to provide a healthy, sustainable, and biologically diverse forest for forest-based recreational opportunities,” said Judy Drabicki, Region 6 Director.
The draft Adirondack Foothills UMP documents are available on DEC’s website, http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/97049.html. Copies are also available in electronic format on compact disc and may be requested by calling (315) 866-6330.

Town of Trenton Public Meeting Room
