OGDENSBURG, N.Y. -- Not a bad price right?
Las Vegas based airline Allegiant announced two new non-stop flights Tuesday. They both are out of Ogdensburg's International Airport. Starting October 5th, you can take a non-stop flight to Orlando. The next day, the 6th, flights to Fort Lauderdale begin. You can start booking those flights now.
There are not flights everyday though.
Now if you are flexible, you can find rates as low as $57 dollars. There are quite a few of those flights. But that number jumps up on busier travel days. Some are in the $115 range, up to $237 and even $314.
Senator Chuck Schumer weighed in Tuesday.
“In 2014, I urged the FAA to approve the runway expansion at the Ogdensburg Airport, knowing that Allegiant Air service would be a huge boost for the regional economy. I continued to work closely with OBPA officials to bust through bureaucratic delays and secure additional federal investment to prevent these flights from being grounded. Today’s announcement means the North Country can finally reap the benefits,” said U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer. “These flights will not only increase travel options for residents, it will also bring more travelers seeking to come enjoy the St Lawrence River’s scenic beauty and the countless other tourist attractions we have to offer. Let’s prepare for takeoff.”
It appears as if you cannot book anything after Valentine's Day yet.
