Hawaiian Electric has launched an improved system to report power outages for residents on Hawaii Island and in Maui County effective from Thursday, May 8.

In addition to new toll-free numbers, the new system will automatically recognize the caller’s number and account if they call from the phone number associated with their account, which is similar to Oahu’s toll-free trouble line. Customers will now be able to quickly and easily report an outage through the automated system without having to wait to speak to an agent.

Report an outage using the following toll-free numbers:

  • Hawaii Island - 1-855-304-9191
  • Maui County - 1-855-304-8181
  • Oahu - 1-855-304-1212

Hawaiian Electric encourages customers to make the most of the new system by logging into their online account or calling customer service on their respective island to ensure the phone number on their account is current.
