KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Governor Andrew Cuomo was in Kingston on Wednesday to announce the city is one of 10 communities across the state to receive a $10 million state grant as part of the his Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
State and city leaders will work together to plan what projects will be funded.
Mayor Steve Noble said some ideas include making it easier for business to operate in Kingston, and investing in Dietz Stadium to make it a regional attraction.
"[We want to] be a regional attraction, and that's really important, I think, to the people who live and work in uptown Kingston," the mayor said.
Keegan Ales Owner Tommy Keegan says the investment is good for business.
"It'll definitely increase the traffic flow here," he said.
