ROCHESTER, N.Y. --  Roadside memorial remains in place five months after a two-car accident near the corner of Jerold Street and Northland Avenue took two lives.

Justice Moss, 20, was badly injured in the March crash and he died from those injuries in June.

"I stayed in the hospital with my son from the day of the accident until the day he passed away. I felt my son take his last breath," said Denise Colon, Moss' mother.

Colon was in court as 24-year-old Luis Ramirez was arraigned on four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the death of her son Justice Moss and his friend Rashaad Pearsall. Police say both men were passengers in a car driven by Ramirez when he ran a stop sign and crashed into another car. Ramirez also faces assault charges, driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle impaired by drugs.

"Watching these two kids that I watched grow from children, to lose them over something so senseless, it just doesn't make no sense," said Edward Felong, Moss's cousin. "A lot of these kids these days, they do the stupidest things and they think they're invincible but when you destroy lives, you know, you have to take a look at yourself and realize what's you're doing wrong."

Luiz Ramirez had been free on his own recognizance, but he was taken into custody Wednesday and is due back in court next month.
