White nationalist group hangs sign at App State, claiming to be looking for new members

BOONE -- Students at Appalachian State University are banning together after a suspected white nationalist group hung a sign on campus.

This sign was hung on the bridge reading "a new dawn is breaking rise and get active".

Identity Evropa claimed responsibility on social media for the sign.

Within minutes, a group called Carolina Mountain Redneck Revolt came on campus and took it down.            

Students say having something like that hanging on campus is unacceptable and they will work together to keep it from happening again

App State put out a statement stating that the campus police have been looking into the situation and have found no connection between the sign and a campus group.
