FULTON, N.Y. -- The site of the former Nestle plant in Fulton was declared unsafe and an imminent danger to the community by the city's Common Council.

Officials say the building has holes in the floor and there is asbestos at the site. There's a contractor cleaning the 24-acre property.

Wednesday's move by the Common Council will ensure that no one can develop there until the area is cleaned up.

Two of the acres have already been cleaned up and sold to Aldi, which hopes to start building there as soon as Monday.
