CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Frontier Airlines is launching service to five cities from Buffalo, with low fares and direct flights. The airline will offer new, direct service to Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers and Denver. Airline officials say the new flights reflect the low-cost, destination demands of Western New Yorkers.

"We chose these particular points because these are points that are generally very popular with people in the region and also may not have been served," said Robert Westgate, Frontier Airlines schedule planning senior director. "In the case of Miami and Fort Myers, only neighboring airports were served or they may have been suffering from really, really high fares."

Flights are expected to start as low as $39 each way and will begin in early December. Flights to Denver will start some time in spring 2018.

"This will provide a wonderful opportunity for people to come and see all the things we have to offer in Western New York," said Monica Wallace, (D) Assembly - Lancaster. "It'll also be a welcomed opportunity for some of us to head out on a low-cost weekend to Miami on some weekends in the winter."

Frontier is also offering a bundle that starts at $59 each way that includes a carry-on bag, a checked bag, the best available seat, waived change fees and refunds, all for one low price.
