TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- Chemical plant workers say a standstill in contract negotiations has left them with few options. This comes after the DuPont Yerkes workers last week held a rally and several rounds of talks with company leadership.

In the end, they say management put out a final offer, which still includes the cuts to retirement benefits and pay that they were protesting.

In a statement, the company said that they are "committed to reaching a fair agreement and believe that it is best achieved at the bargaining table," but according to employees, all they've received since then was a packet from the plant manager, which details the benefits they'll lose if they strike.

Union reps are now closely reviewing the terms of the offered contract and pushing for a new negotiation date.

Their current contract expires on Friday and they have until July 31 to accept the company's most recent offer as it stands.
