Nance's girlfriend, Aseel Danan, confirmed in an Instagram post that he had died.

The Austin Police Department said it was called to a house on the 300 block of West Mary Street at around 2:10 a.m. after a report of an unresponsive male.

Austin police told Spectrum News that his death is not considered suspicious, however, the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the exact cause following an autopsy report.

Nance competed for the love of Bachelorette Emily Maynard in 2012, before she sent him home in the fourth of the season's 10 weeks.

Maynard tweeted that she woke up to the news of Nance's death, and said he a kind heart and "so much talent."

In his contestant video, Nance said he lived in Austin and was a musician. He also shared that he was once addicted to prescription pain medication. But he added that his life was back on track.

Friends of Nance said he was in California up until January of this year, working on his music career, but returned to Austin.
