New 332 Manhattan Area Code Coming Next Month

NEW YORK - Manhattan is getting a new area code.

Of course there's 212 which has been joined by 917, and 646.

Now, 332 will launch on June 10.

The state Public Service Commission announced the new area code in 2015.

It says the number is needed to keep pace with the growing demand for residential and business phone numbers.

The new 332 will be New York State's 18th area code.
