DURHAM, N.C. - A litter of puppies came into the world Friday.

The Museum of Life and Science’s female red wolf gave birth to six puppies.

According to the museum, they are all healthy after having their first checkup.

There are less than 300 red wolves alive, and the museum says they are excited to welcome these critically endangered species.

They say visitors will most likely not see the pups for a while because they do not spend much of their time out of the den until June.

However, you can always check for pictures of the new arrivals on their Facebook or website.
