The third man involved in Kelley Clayton's murder was sentenced on Monday.

Mark Blandford will spend three to six years in prison for the role he played in Kelley's death. Blandford was a friend of Michael Beard's, and acted as his lookout on the night of the murder.

During the sentencing, Blandford apologized to Kelley's family for their loss and for his part in it. Blandford pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second degree manslaughter, in exchange for his testimony in Thomas Clayton's trial.

Chemung County District Attorney Weeden Wetmore says Blandford had an extensive criminal history dating back almost 30 years -- but nothing ever this serious.

"From the beginning, we've always thought he was remorseful," Wetmore said. "He was petrified, frightened when this case, when we learned of his involvement. But from the beginning, he has been very sad for what happened in this case. I do believe he is remorseful."

Beard was already sentenced to life in prison at the end of February. Thomas Clayton will be sentenced next Monday.
