Saint Augustine Student Killed in Washington DC

WASHINGTON -- Saint Augustine students and staff are mourning the death of a young student.

University officials confirm 19-year-old Ayana McAllister was shot and killed Monday in Washington D.C.            

McAllister was originally from Maryland and was in the area for spring break.             

Saint Augustine's University tweeted their condolences saying in part: "Please pray for the family... as they mourn the loss of their daughter & sister." 

McAllister was a freshman studying criminal justice.
