A New Jersey judge on Thursday said a criminal complaint against Governor Chris Christie can move forward.

It's connected to the Bridgegate scandal in 2013.

The judge says there is probable cause to charge Christie with official misconduct for failing to stop lane closures and the gridlock that resulted on the George Washington Bridge.

It's alleged that it was in retribution, after the mayor of Fort Lee New Jersey failed to endorse Christie.

Two former Christie aides were convicted of federal charges in connection to the closures in November.

The judge gave Christie until March 10 to answer the criminal summons, although it's unclear if he will have to appear in person.
