Former Carnegie Deli workers protested the restaurant's recent shutdown.
The historic Midtown deli closed last week.
Owner Marian Harper says keeping up the 80-year-old family business was too taxing to maintain — and even denied a $10 million offer to sell.
"I have good relationship with the customers — they feel sad, and they said that they want this place to reopen again and I also wish very, very much to have this place open," said one protesting worker.
"I'm still hoping they open because this is the famous, the most famous deli in the world," said another. "And it's a busy restaurant I have no idea why they closed that place."
Other Carnegie Deli locations will stay open including one at Madison Square Garden and a seasonal location at the U.S. Open.
