CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have released more details about a deadly shooting in east Charlotte Wednesday.
Police say 22-year-old Thomas McDonald died after being taken to the hospital.
It happened at the Sardis Place Apartments off Independence Boulevard near Matthews.
Police say they were called out to the apartments around 6:30 p.m.
They found McDonald shot and sent him to the hospital.
Officers were walking around the apartments looking for any witnesses.
Right now they have no one in custody.
Police say they do not believe this shooting was random.
