SAN ANTONIO -- One of San Antonio’s favorite grocery stores is celebrating the spirit of the season with a life-size gingerbread house.
This weekend the South Flores Market H-E-B invited the community to put the final touches on a house model.
Students from Warren High School handcrafted the holiday replica.
Saturday, families and their little engineers came out to assist.
“The pieces that are being painted today will actually be some of the ornaments and decals that you’ll see on the life-size gingerbread house,” said H-E-B’s Julie Bedingfield. “Our students from Construction Careers Academy will help finish up the house after the celebration.”
Once completed, the gingerbread home will go to the children of Respite Care San Antonio, an organization that cares for children with special needs.
