A Bayside chef is getting her time to shine this week on an episode of "Chopped."
Maria Petridis is the chef and owner of Maria’s Mediterranean Seafood and Grill on Bell Boulevard.
She moved to Queens from Greece 18 years ago.
She says her experience as a contestant on the cooking show was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"It was very exciting, very stressful, but at the same time, it was an experience that changes you. Makes you see into your soul and understand who you truly are," said Petridis.
Petridis' competitive side will show during the episode of "Chopped" on the Food Network Tuesday, December 27 at 10 p.m.
