NYPD Arrests Suspect for Deadly Sucker Punch Last Summer in Queens, Second Suspect Sought

Police arrested a man they say fatally punched a 64-year-old man in Queens last summer.

42-year-old Mathew Smith has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and assault.

Police say Smith sucker-punched Patrick Gorman at the corner of Main Street and Queens Boulevard in Briarwood.

It happened just after midnight on June 26.

Police say Smith then walked off with his wife.

Gorman later died at the hospital.

Police are still searching for Smith's wife, 39-year-old Elena Makarova.
