CHARLOTTE – After months of campaigning and canvassing, we’re on the final stretch to Election Day.

Democrats and Republicans have had hundreds of volunteers working across Mecklenburg County for months. Both parties say they'll have volunteers making phone calls, giving rides to the polls and passing out voter guides on Election Day.

"We have staging locations where we will have individuals with literature, as well as snacks and water and people with cars to give rides,” said Matt Newton with the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party.

"I've never seen this much continuous nonstop enthusiam from opening to close all through early voting, I mean people don't even want to go home and that is truly how energized folks our are,” said Clarie Mahomey, Mecklenburg County Republican Party.

Polls across North Carolina will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Novemebr 8.
