SHELBY, N.C. - Three suspects were in court Monday on murder charges after Shelby police say they were involved in the deaths of a child and a 22-year-old woman.

A judge appointed all three a public defender and gave them a November 22 court date for probable cause.

Morrs Abraham, Mario Wilson and Aubre Sucato face first degree murder, attempted murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit a robbery charges.

Shelby Police Chief Jeff Ledford says the tragedy started as an attempted drug robbery but it ended with three people being shot.

Liam Murray and Miranda Woods were shot and killed Thursday morning. 31-year-old Jerroid Shippy was shot multiple times, but he survived.

Their families say Woods and Shippy were at Liam’s mother's house on Whisnant Street when the deadly attempted robbery happened.

Liam's mother and baby brother were also there when the shooting began, but they are okay.

Liam's stepfather said the 3-year-old loved super heroes.

Miranda Woods had a young daughter named Makayla.

Mario Wilson's family and friends were in court Monday. His father didn't want to go on camera but did tell us they are still shocked their son was possibly involved in this crime.

Liam Murray's funeral will be held Tuesday.
