On this Halloween edition of "Science Break," Burton Fitzsimmons is joined by a couple of assistants to show us how science can spook up a carved jack-o'-lantern.

What you need:

  • ½ cup hydrogen peroxide
  • 1 active dry yeast packet
  • 3 tablespoons warm water
  • Food coloring
  • Liquid dish detergent

Steps:

  1. Carefully pour hydrogen peroxide into bowl.
  2. Add several drop of food coloring.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon or so of dish soap.
  4. In small cup, combine warm water and yeast then mix thoroughly.
  5.  Mix all ingredients together.
