SAN ANTONIO – Talk about little whipper-snappers! Meet some of the newest residents out at the San Antonio Zoo.

Earlier this month 12 Tomistoma crocodiles hatched at the zoo.

This rare species can grow up to about 20 feet in length.

In the wild, they live in freshwater lakes, rivers and swamps in Indonesia and Malaysia.

But, loss of habitat threatens the species.

The San Antonio Zoo has one of the most successful Tomistima breeding programs in the nation.

These little guys will go on display at the zoo later this month.
