CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department has to pay $7,000 dollars following the July death of training recruit Jeremy Moseley.
This list compiled by the department's Occupational Safety and Health Division shows why the CMPD was fined.
They say the department did not provide a heat stress awareness and prevention program for recruits, required them to complete physical training in the extreme heat with no water and breaks were not encouraged while the recruits were wearing bullet proof vests.
CMPD says they reviewed the findings and plan to make several changes in their recruit training.
