WINSTON-SALEM -- Wet weather did not stop Wake Forest University from kicking off its football season Thursday at home against Tulane.
The Deacs began the new season with a new policy when it comes to alcohol sales. WFU is the the first Division I school in the state to add stadium-wide alcohol sales, joining several ACC schools this year that already sell beer and wine.
Most fans said they're open to the new addition at games.
"It's being done at other places, I'm not against it at all,” said Deacons fan Frank McNally.
Wake Forest University will also sell alcohol stadium wide at Joel Coliseum when basketball tips off later this year.
The Deacons defeated Tulane 7-3 to go 1-0 on the season.
