There is some possible good news for some Whitestone residents who lost their neighborhood grocery store.
The owners of the property on 10th Avenue where a Waldbaum's was located tell NY1 they plan to replace it with another grocery store.
Waldbaum's closed nine months ago after 30 years at that location. Residents who say they have few other options have been pressuring local leaders and holding rallies to get a new grocery store.
The Feil Organization now says their future plans for the site includes a 28,000 square foot supermarket and a 12,000 square foot pharmacy.
The company did not provide any other details.
