NIXON, Texas — Nixon city manager Manuel Zepeda has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing at least one student.
Investigators say the abuse began in 2009, when he was a substitute teacher for the Nixon-Smiley School District.
Texas rangers took Zepeda into custody Thursday for aggravated sexual assault of a child and having an improper relationship with a student.
The 66 year old was booked into the Gonzales County Jail in an ongoing investigation involving three young girls.
Zepeda has been the city manager since 2014.
