Crews will once again be spraying pesticides in parts of the city this week to reduce the amount of mosquitoes.

Low-flying helicopters are scheduled to spray non-residential areas of Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx from Thursday to Saturday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

If there is bad weather, the treatment will be pushed back a day.

It is a part of an effort to control mosquitoes that potentially carry the West Nile and Zika viruses.

Health officials urge New Yorkers to eliminate standing water, repair torn window and door screens and wear insect repellent when spending time outdoors.
