AUBURN, N.Y. -- An unmarked burial ground in Central New York is believed to contain the remains of the man who killed President William McKinley in Buffalo a century ago.

Police say the burial ground was found last weekend in Auburn and contained the remains of executed Auburn prison inmates. Old newspaper accounts show Leon Czolgosz was executed in Auburn and was to be buried in a prison graveyard there.

Czolgosz shot McKinley during the 1901 Pan-Am Exposition. The president died eight days later. The remains are being studied by medical examiners.
