AUSTIN—A roller coaster carrying about a dozen people got stuck on the tracks Friday at Six Flags Over Texas.

The New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster, formally known as the Shockwave, stopped on the tracks going uphill at about 11 a.m. Park officials say a sensor indicated a possible problem with the ride so it stopped the coaster in a safe place.  Crew members brought water to passengers stranded on the ride.

Almost half an hour later crew members escorted passengers down the emergency ramp. Officials have shut the ride down for inspection.
