Elmira police have now made an arrest in Thursday morning's homicide.
Police have charged 29-year-old Akeem Williams with second-degree murder. Investigators say he shot and killed 44-year-old Tiko Head.
Police were called to the 100 block of West 2nd Street around 1 a.m.
They arrived to find the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound. He died at a nearby hospital.
Police are still looking for people to come forward in the case.
