GREENSBORO - A man is dead after slamming into a big rig on I-85 Saturday morning.
The crash shut down I-85 North in Greesnboro for hours.
Greensboro police say 23-year-old Joseph Dyer of Jamestown was driving the wrong way on the interstate around 4:30 a.m. when he crashed head-on into a tractor trailer.
Dyer died at the scene.
Emergency crews closed down the highway at South Elm-Eugene Streets and shifted traffic onto business 85 for hours while they cleared the wreckage. They eventually reopened the lanes around 11:30 a.m.
