A Staten Island school is immersing students in cutting edge technology.

A 5th grade class at P-S 22 showed-off their latest creations Monday - virtual reality video games.

It's all part of the V-R Quest Education Design Program funded through Councilwoman Debi Rose's office.

Students choose topics like history and sciene to design their own virtual worlds from start to finish.

They say the coursework is already helping them in other classes.

"We already know how to type and we can have a better imagination if we're doing a fictional story and it can help us get our grades up," student Tyler Caputo, said.

"We're incorporating technology and creativity and with a medium that the children really like and enjoy," City Councilwoman Debi Rose, said.

Rose says she plans to expand the program as more funding becomes available.
