If you need to check the status of a permit application for a city landmark, you can now just go online.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission rolled out a searchable database on its website.
It's the first time the LPC is making the documents available to the public online.
You can search by address, historic district and lot.
The commission says more than 35,000 sites in the city have landmark status, and it receives more than 13,000 permit applications a year.
The goal is to protect and regulate the city's architecturally, historically and culturally significant buildings.
You can find the new search tool at nyc.gov/landmarks.
