One lucky shopper in St. Lawrence County got a great deal on her groceries Saturday.
Donna Hadlock won a 30-second shopping spree at Alex Bay Big M Supermarket in Alexandria Bay. Her daughter Karen ran for her. She had half a minute to fill up a cart with as many items as she could get, not going over $300.
Her game plan was to head right for the meat aisle. The clock was ticking and soon, the 30 seconds were up and it was time to check out.
"I couldn't run as fast as she could,” said Donna Hadlock.
“I pretty much knew right from the beginning that I'd be heading for the meat counter. We just wanted to get as much bang for our buck,” said Karen Hadlock.
The total cost of her all of the items was about $289.
