CHARLOTTE -- A community is mourning the loss of a teen who died in a car accident early Saturday morning and injured four others.

14-year-old Joshua Pang, was a front seat passenger and killed on impact. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the 17-year-old driver of the car lost control early Saturday morning on McKee road and hit a tree. Pang was involved in the church, played the drums and much more.

"He was trained for a mission trip this summer he was so excited he was going with a bunch of people he loved," said Youth Pastor Gina Wall.

CMPD said the 17-year-old driver and one other passenger were taken to ICU at Carolinas Medical Center. Two other passengers had minor injuries.
