ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Since 1929 you could say in the Rochester area Savoia Pastry Shoppe has been synonymous with Easter.
"You walk in the door and the aroma and smell just takes over," said Shelley Barone of Webster.
Cookies, cakes and the Easter bread catch your eyes next.
"This is one of the best pastry shops I think in the area," Barone said.
It's clear Barone isn't the only one who thinks this. Even the littlest of customers are impressed.
"It matches my flower pedals," Lila said while looking a cake.
But, for 4-year-old Grodensky, the bakery visit is about much more than the pink bunny.
"We got a treat for my dad, a treat for us and a treat for my mom," Lila said.
The Grodensky's have turned the yearly visit into a family tradition. They go all out.
"Family is important and we are building memories with them," Stephen Grodensky, Lila's dad said. "My hope is they take this together family thing and pay it forward."
Also sporting an Easter themed ensemble was 4-year-old Aaleen Luckin.
"I'm so excited," Luckin said.
While Luckin was grateful for the bunny ears her dad bought her, she said he had since made a much sweeter purchase.
"I got candy!" Luckin exclaimed.
While candy and cookies are hot items, the big seller was of course the Easter Bread.
4,000 round loaves of Easter Bread will be sold on Sunday alone.
"I know it looks a little crazy in here, but it's nothing compared to yesterday," Cucchiara said. "There were lines out the door and around the corner."
While the lines weren't like that Sunday, the goods were still flying off the shelves.
"I've sold definitely 200 cannolis already," Cucchiara said.
That was at 10 a.m., just an hour into the day, but the bakers planned for all this to be gone six hours later when their shop closes up for the day. What will remain is another year of sweet memories.
