Lofty Ex­pec­ta­tions for Annual Empire State Building Run Up

More than 200 people will lace up their sneakers Wednesday night and race up 86 stories to the top of the Empire State Building.

The 39th annual Empire State Building Run Up begins at 8 p.m.

Those taking part will race up from the lobby, and finally take a breather at the observation deck.

That's nearly 1,600 steps.
