Whoever smelt it dealt it — one map is celebrating the smells of a Brooklyn neighborhood.
The nose knows Gowanus.
Check out the sensory map of the neighborhood. It took architect Annie Barrett and her team three days to track the sometimes not-so-nice smells of the community alongside the Gowanus Canal.
The unique scents are broken down into negative man-made smells like garbage, pleasing smells such as food, and organic smells from plants.
No surprise here: most negative smells came from the canal, one of country's most contaminated waterways.
